biblatex

The documentation is a little daunting, but there’s plenty of useful stuff on stack exchange.

  • Guidelines for customizing biblatex styles. Contains some useful examples (e.g. suppressing fields, using commas instead of periods as separators). Also points to locations of biblatex.cfg and biblatex.def (both located in usr/local/texlive/<year>/texmf-dist/tex/latex/biblatex) which contain useful stuff.
  • Bold author names. Note that you need to switch the position of every “given” and “family” to make sure author names are printed as last name, first init.
  • Biblatex guide. A useful overview of the basics.
